How to get your personalized AI?
The TextCortex Platform is equipped with all the necessary tools for you to personalize your AI copilot with your unique knowledge and style to make it suit your custom needs. And Zeno (our AI alter ego) powers all of these functionalities we'll be talking about in a bit.
If you want to skip all of this and get a brief overview in 180 seconds, please give this a watch:
Who is TextCortex for?
TextCortex is designed for individuals and teams looking to enhance their operations with an AI copilot that can be tailored to their specific objectives and needs, solidifying its role as a true partner for efficiency and innovation in the workplace.
Get started with Zeno: Your customizable AI copilot
Zeno is a cutting-edge AI companion that can be fully personalized with your own input and knowledge. Imagine an AI that speaks your voice, knows about your business and has access to the latest trends on the web.
Think of AI as a helper to enhance your work efficiency by handling repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Zeno is really good at quickly navigating through tiny details to pinpoint specific information in a lot of files, which gives you more time to focus on the important aspects of your task.
What is ZenoChat?
ZenoChat is your main means of communication with Zeno. It's the place where you can input all the knowledge and style to personalize your AI to better suit your needs.
How to personalize this "Zeno" then?
Now that you have a clearer comprehension of how Zeno operates, let’s take a look at how you can derive value out of it.
The core of this personalization lies in providing Zeno with your knowledge and input. Zeno will learn from you, adapt the responses accordingly and make references to your documents when necessary.
Uploading Files: Work with your own data
You can quickly upload files and ask questions to elicit what's important within. It's especially useful when you are working with a lot of PDF files, CSV files, or DOCX documents. Simply upload your files and start querying what you want out of these documents.
Here are some popular use cases among other users:
- Summarizing research papers or meeting notes
- Extracting key highlights in long PDF / DOCX files
- Analyzing CSV sheets with rows of data
- Reading publicly accessible web URLs and working with all the information there
Useful info: You can also refer to your sources later on by typing / in the message box.
Knowledge Bases: Connect multiple data points
If you are looking to work with several data points in a more structural way, then you need a knowledge base. You can create multiple knowledge bases for different use cases.
You can centralize a multitude of data sources into your knowledge base. Simply drag all of your files inside and work with all of them at once.
You can upload PDF files, DOCX documents, CSV sheets, Markdown files or even connect your Google Drive account with just a few clicks.
Create your first knowledge base
1. Navigate to the Knowledge section on our app. From there, click on the Knowledge Bases tab and hit the +New button.
2. Select a name for your Knowledge Base and then upload your desired files. We support various file formats such as PDF, DOCX, CSV, and PPTX to ensure seamless integration with your existing documents. You can also connect other sources such as Google Drive or OneDrive.
3. Once your files have been uploaded, you can head over to ZenoChat, click on the "+" button, head over to "Search" and choose the Knowledge Base you want to work with.
That's it! You're now ready to harness the full power of our new Knowledge Bases feature. Go ahead and ask questions to your files.
Note: Keep in mind that all files are processed by TextCortex without the use of third parties. Refer to our article "How We Handle Data at TextCortex" for more information.
Web Search: Smarter search with the exact information you need.
The Web Search feature allows Zeno to gain a deeper knowledge about the recent events of our world and shape its responses accordingly to cater to your needs.
When you type your requests or instructions, Zeno will search the Internet, sort through all the information, then organize the findings and present them to you along with corresponding references.
While this process may cause some longer delays in responses during the dialogue, we believe that it enhances your experience when searching for an information even further when compared to looking it up on a traditional search engine.
Last but not least, always fact-check the results you get from Zeno. In its essence, it is an AI system which can still hallucinate some of the answers that might appear plausible at first sight.
Multiple Data Sources
You can further customize your research experience to suit your specific needs with more data sources!
You can add your own data sources, switch between data sources such as News sources, Google Scholar, Twitter, Reddit, or custom URLs. This makes it easier for you to find the information you need, no matter where it is located on the web.
Personas: Define the tone of your AI
Personas help you define the tone of voice of your AI. You can set the tone and define how you want your AI to answer to your queries. You can create a virtual twin of yours, or a even a poet that writes beautifully crafted poems.
Create your first persona
Simply click on the Customizations section of the sidebar on the left side of your screen, then on "Personas" and finally on "Create Persona" to start configuring your persona.
Time to start creating your Individual Persona! Upload a picture, give it a name, include some useful descriptions & background.
You have the chance to customize the communication of your persona by adding goals, details and you will even be able to select specific rules that will act as guidelines for how your Persona interacts. This is quite important as the process will customize how your AI responds according to your precise preferences!
Once you are done, you can set a default persona for your writing style and/or change it whenever you want!
You can always go back to the Personas tab under Customizations to manage all your personas.
Templates: Save your prompts and reuse them with ease
With templates, you can save your prompts and set dynamic input fields.
This means that you don't have to meddle with copying and pasting long prompts from your Notes app and changing certain words in parentheses each time.
The template above only shows 3 input fields: Topic, Keywords, Writing Tone. However, there is a hidden prompt in the back even though it's not visible:
This way, you can work with the same prompt over and over again for different cases. We allow you to customize your prompt however you like.
You can always go back to edit your template, too: adjust the instructions of the prompt behind your template and change the input fields whenever you need to!
Create your first template
1. Simply click on "Create your own template" within the ZenoChat interface:
2. From there, you'll need to fill out some basic information, such as the name and description of your template, but the most important aspect of your template will be the "Template Prompt".
Template Prompt is the pre-built recipe for your template to work as you wish it to. With your instructions, you'll define what the AI should do, how it should do it, and provide some dynamic input fields that can be filled out later.
Template Example
For example, let's say you want to create a "Caption Generator" for your social media posts. Your template might look like this:
- Template Name: Caption Generator
- Template Description: This template is used to create social media captions for posts.
- Template Prompt: Act as a caption generator for social media posts. Create a social media caption for [Topic Name] and make sure to write the caption in a [Tone] way for [Target Audience].
The inputs in square brackets mean that they are dynamic input fields that can be filled in every time you start a new interaction with this template.
As you start configuring your template, you'll see that the "Preview" modal adapts in real-time, allowing you to test how it performs based on your prompt and provided inputs.
Text-to-speech & speech-to-text capabilities
TextCortex offers text-to-speech capabilities on the generated responses. On our app, you can simply click on "+ Action" and hit Listen: the text will be read aloud.
If you'd like to make use of the speech-to-text funcitonality, you can simply click on the microphone icon inside the message area, allow the necessary permissions inside your browser and continue speaking.
Customizations Menu
You will see a category named Customizations on the sidebar menu. This is where you can manage all of your customizations, including Personas and Templates.

You can easily access your templates or community templates generated by other users through the Customizations tab of our sidebar:
